Background
Professor Luke Wolfenden is a Professor in behavioural science at the University of Newcastle, Australia. His research focuses on the reduction of modifiable chronic disease risk in the community through the use of methodologically rigorous translation and implementation research. Since being awarded a PhD in behavioural medicine in 2006, he has published over 300 peer-reviewed journal articles and has been awarded over $23.5 million in grants, attesting to his outstanding track record and productivity. He has supervised 10 Higher Degree Research students to completion and is currently supervising 10 PhD students (5 as primary supervisor). He has expertise in translational and implementation methodologies and trialling strategies to increase the uptake of evidence-based practices. His skills in translational and implementation research will be utilised to ensure new evidence generated from the Centre of Excellence in Treatable Traits research programme is effectively implemented into practice.
