Treatable Traits
The Director of our Centre of Excellence in Treatable Traits, Professor Vanessa McDonald was awarded the TSANZ Research Medal at the TSANZSRS Annual Scientific Meeting. We are all so proud of the achievement and Professor McDonald’s dedication to advancing research in lung health in Australia and around the world.

In July 2021 the Centre held its first INNOVATE workshop. The purpose of the INNOVATE workshops is to build capacity in research for early-mid career researchers (EMCRs), facilitate the development of collaborations and promote research excellence through the development of inter-and multidisciplinary research teams.

Oral corticosteroids (OCS) are an effective treatment for acute and chronic severe asthma. However the indiscriminate use of OCS poses a risk of serious side effects and irreversible harm. There is an urgent need to introduce OCS stewardship approaches.
